Natural Fertility Program
Jennifer Weekes ND Bach is an experianced Natural Fertility Therapist (Select TESTIMONIALS on the menu bar)
I am concerned about a number of issues relating to invitro fertilisation and its possible impact on the health of future generations. The frightening fact is that no-one knows for certain how human populations will be affected. A recently published study reports increased incidence of developing genetic diseases. The question is, will such illnesses develop as part of the aging process, or more frightening, at a much earlier age.
Although infertility is affecting more and more couples, in reality very few women are actually clinically infertile - most women and their partners are simply not physically and emotionally in full reproductive balance. Some have difficulty just conceiving, others suffering from recurrent miscarriage.
Causes for infertility are many and varied, but where a couple of child-bearing age are engaged in regular unprotected intercourse for three consecutive years without a pregnancy, they are likely to seek clinical advice.
One major factor that affects a large number of women’s ability to conceive easily is long term use of the contraceptive pill.
Obesity is linked to insulin resistance and polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD).
Associated symptoms include amenorrhoea (absence of, or irregular menses). PCOD can also develop in underweight females with insufficient body fat to support hormone production and ovulation, and the condition is commonly associated with anorexia nervosa.
Environmental pollution is rightly blamed as a factor affecting both male and female fertility. For that reason, I always test for chemical overload as part of a wellness review.
Other lifestyle factors that impact on conception health are a healthy diet and avoidance of alcohol, tobacco and recreational drugs that would all impact on baby’s as well as parent’s health and their ability to reproduce.
High stress levels impact on our physiological health, and certainly, where there is a fear of failure in any area of life, it will often impair mental as well as bodily functions. Many women have suddenly discovered they were pregnant years after giving up trying. Howerver, in western society folk tend to demand solutions based on scientific technology, regardless of the health risks.
HOW CAN I HELP & WHAT ARE THE COSTS INVOLVED?
First of all I need a thorough case history and a wellness review. Heavy metal tests using urine, an inexpensive in – clinic test. Naturopathic consultations takes an hour and 30 minutes and includes Hemaview TM (select from the menu bar). Tongue and pulse assessments are included as well as a zinc taste test for zinc status. Where there is evidence of gut dysbiosis that is indicated in the blood consistency and urinary indican testing, it is important to regulate that area of health in order to stabilise the immune system and hormone functions.
Weight loss is an area that would need addressing where necessary.
Heavy metal chelation therapy using cerain prescriptions may also be required.
Acupuncture has proven highly beneficial with fertility programs and I always try to encourage women to undergo a regime of acupuncture session as well as a Miridiacheck (select acugraph from the menu bar). All skin penetration involves the use of high quality, sterile, disposable, single use acupuncture needles. Many people refuse any sort of needling and I do not try to coerce them against their wishes. However, laser acupuncture is painless and is always an option.
Massage and lymphatic drainage are options that sometimes support conception.
Herbal medicine is a major part of natural fertility, using both western as well as Chinese herbal formulas.
Homeopathy is equally important and is incorporated into miridian rebalancing, where certain auricular points are used, and has an enormous impact on the body’s response to the entire treatment program, including assimilation of nutrients and detoxification processes.
Biomesotherapy – Likewise with acupuncture, this amazing technique is not suitable for those with a fear of needles. Single use, sterile syringes, needles and ampoules are used to inject small amounts of saline at specific points to open up the energy flow through the matrix and modulate inflammatory cytokines and hormone release via cellular detoxification pathways that may be overloaded and sluggish. Orally ingested homeopathic hormones and suis organ medicine (homeopathic) are dispensed as part of the treatment.
Microcurrent Therapy – this amazing therapy supports Biomesotherapy and is used with or without the needling, along with laser light acupuncture and bioptron light. Herbal and homeopathic fertility cream formulas may also be prescribed.
Nutritional support – Naturally derived vitamins that are free from magnesium stereate are preferable during a detoxification program. Only very high grade fish oils that are free from marine pollutants are recommended and preference is given to nutritional food derived oils such as organic Faxseed and fat soluble vitamins.
NB: no claims are made for cures to irreversivble degenerative diseases and cancer. Natural Therapies can reduce symptoms and slow disease processes. Regulations for Natural Therapies allow external physical assessments that do not include inspection of the genital regions, nor internal examinations. Treatments for such problems as genital herpes and vaginal prolapse would require medical diagnosis by a registered medical doctor. Natural therapies are aimed at supporting wellness, improving immunity, digestion and detoxification pathways thus reducing inflammation and pain and increasing vitality. Alternative medicine includes Acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, homeopathy and nutraceuticals plus certain approved medical equipment to support healing such as FS microcurrent therapy and Bioptron Light Therapy. Naturopathy does NOT include any form of intra-venous therapy or medical drugs. Jennifer is registered as a mesotherapist that allows the injecting of sterile saline sub-cutanoeosly with the consent of her patients. This is a non medicare provider service that can be claimed as acupuncture or naturopathic treatment through private health fund extras only.
